New Spots in Solomons: Small Business is Booming

Patuxent Plaza has seen a boost in business recently. What once was a spot filled with our simple community staples has now expanded into a space of opportunity and options.

Sunday FUNday on the Plaza

On Sunday, November 16th, Juice Buzz and The Beanery officially opened and celebrated in style. There were local vendors and pop-ups like Sweet Poetry Bakery, and Muzzy’s Wine Jellies, music, raffles, a flash tattoo pop-up, and of course, fresh smoothies, juices from Juice Buzz, and the grand opening menu from The Beanery. Rilynn went to this event and had a fun time. She got the berry crunch toast from Juice Buzz and a toasted marshmallow latte from the Beanery. She also supported Sweet Poetry Bakery, and the sourdough pop-up as well. The vibes were great, and it was awesome to see so many people support local!!

Juice Buzz 

Juice Buzz is a gluten-free wellness café located in Solomons. They just opened their new location in the Patuxent Plaza, partnering with the Beanery. Juice Buzz offers a fresh side to Lusby. With freshly crafted cold-pressed juices, smoothies, bowls, and other healthy food options, Juice Buzz emphasizes gluten-free dining and fresh ingredients. 80% of their menu is dairy-free.  One of the best features of Juice Buzz is its cold-pressed juice. Cold-pressed juices have so many benefits, including rich antioxidants, digestive support, energy boost, skin glow, and immune support! Each juice is priced at $9 and includes yummy flavors. Find them in many places like local markets, Solomons Island, or their online & pick-up options! 

The Beanery  

The Beanery is a coffee shop that originated in Lexington Park and just opened a new location in Solomons, partnering with Juice Buzz. They are a woman-owned small business and their hours are 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. They have coffee, matcha, energy refreshers, and breakfast options. They come out with specialty menus here and there and also have rotating staff picks and local small biz collabs. Something cool about The Beanery is that their coffee is completely organic. They also offer energy refreshers, which bring a different approach to the game. With energy refreshers, you can choose flavors, bases, and energy for a made-to-order energy drink.

The AllyCatWalk 

One of the newest clothing spots in Solomons is AllyCatWalk Boutique, and it’s honestly such a fun place to shop. They have trendy clothes, cute accessories, and great gift ideas for any occasion. It’s nice to have a boutique nearby where you can find something for school events, nights out, or just a new outfit. Ally, the owner, is super kind and always willing to help you find exactly what you’re looking for. Whether you want something casual, dressy, or just a confidence boost, she makes the whole experience enjoyable. Their clothes are always on trend and guaranteed to get you compliments. One of the most popular items is their Judy Blue jeans; they’re stylish, comfortable, and a favorite for a reason.  

Habit Fitness 

It’s a great place if you want to feel stronger, healthier, or just get into a better routine. It’s a boutique fitness studio with a personal, supportive atmosphere, and they offer a variety of classes for all levels. The trainers are encouraging, help with form, and make sure you feel confident in what you’re doing. Spin Strong is one of their most popular classes, mixing cycling with strength training for a fun but challenging workout. The sense of community sets Habit Fitness apart. They support local events, welcome everyone, and are even adding classes for kids and student-athletes.  

Shy Beauty

Shy Beauty is a vintage-inspired beauty studio in the Patuxent Shopping Plaza and has quickly become a go-to spot for spray tans, lashes, makeup, and hair. It’s a convenient place to get ready for school events, photos, or special occasions. The studio is owned by Shyanne, an NFL cheerleader, who brings experience and creativity to every service. She’s known for natural-looking spray tans, bridal glam, and high-quality lash lifts, tints, and extensions. Shy Beauty stands out for its professional, welcoming atmosphere and consistent results. If you need reliable beauty services in Solomons, it’s definitely worth visiting. 

Pure Harmony Esthetics

Pure Harmony Esthetics is located in the same place as Shy Beauty in the Patuxent Shopping Plaza, and it has become a popular spot for anyone looking to take care of their skin. The studio has a calm and relaxing vibe, offering services such as facials, waxing, brow shaping, tinting, and more. The esthetician Alexia is super friendly and really focuses on what your skin needs. She personalizes every treatment, whether you're getting a simple brow cleanup or a full facial. They even have options like the Teen Harmony Glow facial, which is perfect for younger clients who want something gentle but effective. Pure Harmony stands out because the services feel professional but still approachable, and it’s easy to trust that you’re in good hands. If you want to treat yourself or just give your skin a reset.
